Larry Bird Breaks His Silence on Caitlin Clark and the WNBA

The legendary NBA star has confirmed that he’s been following the WNBA closely ever since the Caitlin Clark effect began changing the game.

Larry Bird said:

“I think she’s playing better than she ever has. And at this level, the Indiana Fever have a great chance of winning the championship.

“As for the challenges Caitlin Clark faced early in her career, I’ve been there myself. To be a great athlete, you need a great personality to go along with your talent and skill.

“When you’re attracting that much attention on national television and playing in front of packed arenas at such a young age, you have to be able to enjoy the game without letting the pressure get to you.

“And when it comes to Caitlin Clark’s MVP chances, she absolutely deserves to be in the conversation. She’s one of the best players in the league during the regular season, and the way she’s playing is simply incredible.

“If she wins the MVP, it wouldn’t be a surprise at all.”
