Breaking Down How Clark Is Attacking the Liberty Defense

New York’s defense is one of the toughest in the league when Jonquel Jones and Leonie Fiebich are active. They are collapsing on Clark, forcing her left, and trying to take away the deep three.

So far Clark has responded by shifting into playmaker mode. She is finding Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell in rhythm, even if her own shot chart is quieter than usual. The Liberty are making her work for every inch.

The key in the second half will be whether Clark can change gears and start scoring herself. If the logo threes start dropping, the entire geometry of the game changes. Right now the Liberty are winning the physical battle. Clark still has time to answer.
